Badgers U16A secured an ultimately comfortable win to progress to the next round of the Horsham and District League Cup.
A tight first half had seen Brockham take the lead midway through the half as Scoop lad of the match Charlie Holmes scored a spectacular goal from 20 yards after his initial free kick had rebounded to him. Connor Mitchell, who was recently pleased to have his gloves sponsored by Robbie Ellis in the Brockham goal was largely quiet, but Mitchell was forced into a good save shortly before half time to keep Badgers ahead.
Brockham had laboured to score a second goal despite posession, but eventually it came, and that seemed to knock the resistance out of Heron, goals by Stephen Kehl (2), Henry Hill and Joe Parker giving Brockham what in the end turned out to be a comfortable win.
Brockham - Connor Mitchell, Henry Smith, Joe Parker, Tom Bletso (capt), Jack Hunt, Charlie Holmes, Ollie Smith, Will Bletso, Mike Carty, Ollie Legg,Liam Doyle, Stephen Kehl, Henry Hill.
